ORIGIN: Saxony

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Strong and low standing field pigeon type, thick, muffs as full as possible.

HEAD: Well rounded, plain headed, forehead somewhat high and broad.

EYES: Dark; eye cere small, inconspicuous in color.

BEAK: Long; flesh to light colored on yellows, all other colors dark to black.

NECK: Compact, strong; throat well curved (no gullet).

BREAST: Broad, carried forward, carried low.

BACK: Long, broad, slightly sloping.

WINGS: Strong, broad, held close to body.

TAIL: Long, closed, twelve feathers.

LEGS/FEET: Muff thick and dense; low standing.

FEATHERING: Richly developed, held tight to body.

COLORS: Red (ash red - called brown in German), yellow, black, and blue.

COLOR AND MARKINGS: Red and yellow pure and as intense as possible, the red with metallic luster on neck; blue not too dark and without rust on breast, black with velvet black color without gray tone; the under feather is light. Head, neck, and breast are colored, the breast marking to be sharp and as deep as possible, the remaining feathers after the first moult are white. Some lacing is permitted on the wings, muffs and tail and the rump on blues and blacks.

MAJOR FAULTS:  Too small or weak body. Too high standing. Faulty color. Too high breast markings. Too much lacing on white feathers in the back of neck or head. Very dark beak on yellows (especially on young birds). Muffs too short or with gaps.

ORDER OF EVALUATION: After overall impression the characteristics are judged in the following order: body strength - feather color - markings - muffs - eye and beak color.
